Cryptinae
Unidentified Species
HYMENOPTERA > APOCRITA | Parasitica > Ichneumonidae > Cryptinae > Cryptini
The final member of this subfamily that I'm able to feature was confirmed as a female of the Cryptini tribe, very likely Idiolispa or Trychosis sp., but with no further identification possible without microscopic examination.
All of these species are idiobiont ectoparasitoids of more or less concealed hosts. Most Cryptini are associated with Lepidoptera pupae or prepupae, whereas Aptesini are more varied including sawfly cocoons. Â
Cryptini species are far more likely to be identified than Aptesini.
